The Coalition for Justice and Non-Discrimination in Kirgizstan made the legal analysis of the draft of legislation "On the formation of a positive attitude toward nontraditional forms of sexual relations" that is in contradiction with Constitution and human rights international standards
In April 15, 2014 the law "On amendments to some legislative acts of the Kyrgyz Republic", involving the introduction of some legislative acts of the Kyrgyz Republic containing the wording "the creation of a positive attitude to unconventional sexual relations" was registered in the Supreme Counsel. This law had the negative response from human rights organizations and lawyers. The Coalition for Justice and Non-Discrimination provided the legal analysis of the law and found that it is in obvious contradiction with the international obligations that Kyrgyzstan committed to (contrary to Articles 19 and 26 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights), as well as with the domestic law of the country and, above all, with the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic (contrary to articles 16 , 20 and 33), and despite the fact that this draft law attests a widespread ignorance regarding sexual rights and rights of LGBT (lesbian, gay , bisexual and transgender), and displays a populist nature, it is likely that the arguments against this discriminatory law and legal legislative nature will not be taken into account. In this regard, we propose to draw attention.
