The first session of the National Oversight Committee was held (Ukraine)
On 3 November was held the first session of the National Oversight Committee jointly with the representatives of the MoH, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Ukraine and Russia, partner NGOs and activists. It was considered on the session the druft of the Protocol of hepatitis C treatment using new medicines for risk groups representatives in Ukraine, approval of the treatment schemes indicated in the protocol, patients selection criteria, patient diagnostics and side effects.The event was organized within the Alliance-Ukraine Project “Treatment of viral hepatitis C using sofosbuvir for risk groups representatives in Ukraine” with the support of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. The principal aim of the Project is to expand the access to viral hepatitis C treatment using new medicines for the risk groups representatives.
The Protocol was planned to be submitted for consideration by the International Advisory Committee on the Project implementation on 7 November 2014. During the project implementation the model for HCV treatment services provision and medical and social support for the vulnerable groups will be elaborated. Moreover, project results will be used to further expand the access to HCV treatment for the vulnerable groups and general population in Ukraine.
